How United should line up vs Betis
Ahead of this evening's clash with Real Betis in San Diego, our team of United writers have had their say on how they think the Reds should line up.
Samuel Luckhurst
Erik ten Hag should resist any temptation to start Rashford up front as that contributed to United's false start to last season. Ethan Wheatley is the logical alternative with Rasmus Hojlund injured.
There is little point in playing Victor Lindelof when his bags should be packed for departure from Manchester. Aaron Wan-Bissaka only starts as he is the only senior full back on tour and Sam Murray merits a chance after two steady showings in the first two friendlies.
Scott McTominay could do with a game that could also maintain his resale value. Toby Collyer and Mason Mount have both done well of late.

Tyrone Marshall
Andre Onana has now played two 90 minutes in a row and should play against Liverpool, so this feels a good chance to give Tom Heaton a game in pre-season. In front of him, Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans can start together, with Lindelof coming off the bench, while Harry Amass deserves to start again at left-back.
The midfield should remain unchanged. Collyer is learning plenty alongside Casemiro and they have looked a good partnership, while Mount's performances this summer have been a highlight so far.
We don't know how fit Hojlund is, so I wouldn't take any risks. Wheatley can get some game time in the second half, but Amad shone as a false nine for Sunderland and is worth a look in that position. Antony and Marcus Rashford can start wide.

Steven Railston
Hopefully injuries to Leny Yoro and Hojlund aren't serious and even if the latter is passed fit enough to be involved, it may be wise to take a precaution and start Wheatley instead.
Amass performed well last weekend and should retain his starting role at left-back. Evans should also come back into the team because Lindelof, whose contract expires in June 2025, should be wrapped up in cotton wool ahead of a possible transfer away this summer.
I'd like to see McTominay given some more minutes to get him back up to speed and Mount can continue as the No.10 in the absence of Bruno Fernandes.

George Smith
Having played the full 90 minutes against Rangers and Arsenal, it would make sense for Onana to be given a breather ahead of almost certainly starting the final friendly against Liverpool at the weekend. Radek Vitek, despite impressing against Rosenborg, is set to head out on loan, meaning it would make sense for Heaton to get some minutes.
Yoro should be the only defensive change from the quartet that started against Arsenal, with Evans coming in to replace him. Amass deserves another go after an impressive first half showing at the SoFi Stadium.
The midfield should remain unchanged, meaning Mount deserves another opportunity to show what he can do in the No.10 position. In attack, Wheatley deserves a chance to prove his worth once again, flanked by Amad and Rashford.
