Goalkeeper Tommy Setford has been named in Arsenal’s squad for the tour of the USA after completing his move from Ajax.

The 18-year-old will technically be part of Arsenal’s U21 squad initially but it is anticipated that he will train with the first-team on a regular basis.

Setford has represented England at various youth levels and has been called up to the U20 squad.

As reported by Arsenal.com, eleven other academy players will travel with the first-team to the USA.

Highly regarded trio Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ayden Heaven have all been included.

Midfielder Salah-Eddine also makes the cut along with winger Charles Sagoe Jr and defender Omar Rekik.

Full-back Josh Nichols has been included, as have Michal Rosiak and Jimi Gower.

Goalkeeper Lucas Nygaard, who joined the club earlier this summer, has been selected. Another shot-stopper also makes the trip in Alexei Rojas.

Charlie Patino is the most high-profile absentee with regards to academy players, with the midfielder left out despite featuring in the friendly against Leyton Orient.

Defender Zane Monlouis could go on loan again after being left out, while Brooke Norton-Cuffy’s future remains unclear, with the defender yet to be spotted during pre-season.

Forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji also isn’t in the squad.
