Manchester City have gotten used to seeing some of their big-name players leave the club in recent years.

For example, figures such as Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, David Silva and Raheem Sterling, among others, have waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium after significant spells at City.

With several players leaving the club during this current summer transfer window, a pundit has claimed that one of the Blues’ most high-profile names should follow suit and bring an end to his time with the Citizens.

Steve Nicol claims Kevin De Bruyne should move to Saudi Arabia

With Pep Guardiola recently claiming in a recent press conference (via Man City) that the club have received no offers for Kevin De Bruyne, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, this has since led to one pundit sharing his thoughts on the possibility of seeing the midfielder make a move to the Middle East.

In a recent video shared on the ESPN FC YouTube channel, Steve Nicol had this to say on what he thinks De Bruyne should do this summer in terms of a possible move to Saudi Arabia.

He said: “He had a terrible last season with injuries, the year before I think he was he was injured for a bit as well.

“This time next year again if he gets another bad injury that money might not still be there and he’s got nothing to prove the only thing he’s got to prove is to himself.

“He’s at the stage where he’s won everything he has made a decent amount of money already and there’s a huge carrot waiting for you.

“If I’m him, I’m off in a shot.”

De Bruyne would be a big loss for City

Even though the Citizens managed to secure their fourth consecutive Premier League trophy last season while De Bruyne spent a large period of the campaign out injured, he still showed how important he can be for the team.

Specifically, the 33-year-old, who is City’s biggest earner with a weekly wage of £400k-a-week, scored four goals and supplied 10 assists in 18 league games last term.

Despite the financial lure of making a move to Saudi, we feel that De Bruyne should stay at City and help them win even more silverware.
