Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed that Aston Villa “weren’t happy” about Jhon Duran seemingly angling for a move to West Ham United.

The Villa striker hinted that he would like a move to London Stadium in an Instagram Live video watched by thousands last week.

When asked if he was joining Newcastle United, Duran simply crossed his arms to make a hammer logo – the symbol of West Ham – in the biggest indication he was West Ham-bound.

When asked on talkSPORT Drive about Duran’s conduct, former Villa striker Agbonlahor said: “I heard Aston Villa weren’t happy.”

Jhon Duran move to West Ham surely now off

A lot can happen in a few days – never more so than during a transfer window.

Duran looked nailed on to be heading to London Stadium at the end of last week amid talk of negotiations being ongoing between the Irons and the Villans.

However, it has since become apparent that the two clubs are apart on their valuations and United have since been linked with other names.

Borussia Dortmund’s Niklas Fullkrug now seems the most likely centre-forward arrival in East London before the transfer window closes.

And Crysencio Summerville also looks likely he will join from Leeds United in a massive coup from the club .

Duran wanted the move, United wanted the move, and Villa also seemed open to the move. But ultimately there was no room for negotiating from the Villans’ perspective.

It now makes for an awkward situation as far as Duran is concerned, but it is not West Ham’s problem to deal with.

In other West Ham news, the Irons appear to have missed out on another of their erstwhile targets.
