AC Milan continue to push for the Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal.

The 25-year-old is expected to move on this summer and the Italian outfit are hoping to sign him. According to Calciomercato, they have submitted a fresh offer for the defender and they are optimistic about getting the deal done.

The Brazilian defender is pushing hard to join the Italian club as well, and he has already agreed to a five-year contract with them.

Milan have reportedly submitted a fresh offer of around €14 million for the defender and Tottenham are yet to accept the offer. Negotiations continue between the two clubs and a resolution is expected soon. Milan are hoping to close the deal quickly and the defender is keen on the move as well. It is fair to assume that the transfer will eventually get done.

The defender has struggled for regular game time at Tottenham and a move to the Italian club would be ideal for him. He would get to play regularly for them and he has the quality to improve them as well.

Emerson Royal would improve AC Milan

Milan need more quality and depth in their squad and the 25-year-old could be the ideal utility man for them. He is capable of operating as a wingback as well as a full back. In addition to that, he can operate on the right as well as the left. He has shown his quality in La Liga with Barcelona and he has done reasonably well in English football with Tottenham as well. There is no doubt that he has the physical and technical attributes to adapt to Italian football as well.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to bring a quality replacement for him once the deal is finalised. They have Pedro Porro as the starting right back, but they need more depth in that position. Spurs will be hoping to push for domestic trophies and secure top four qualification in the upcoming season. They will need a quality squad at the disposal in order for that to happen.
