Manchester United legend Steve Bruce has emerged as a shock candidate for one team and has already ‘held talks’ over the management role, according to stunning reports.
Steve Bruce spent his entire Manchester United career under Sir Alex Ferguson and enjoyed incredible success during his playing career at Old Trafford.
The 63-year-old former United defender lifted three Premier League titles, three FA Cups, a League Cup and a European Cup Winners’ Cup with the Red Devils.
Bruce, who made 392 appearances for United under Sir Alex Ferguson, took his first steps in management after his prolific playing career came to an end in 1999.
The ex-United captain has had several head coach roles in his longstanding career, including managing the likes of Aston Villa, Hull City, Wigan Athletic and Sunderland.
Bruce has been out of management since 2022 after he made his departure from West Brom following a disappointing spell at the Hawthorns.

Bruce tipped for management return
Steve Bruce had been at Newcastle before his spell with West Brom and stepped down from St James’ Park after the Saudi Arabia-backed takeover of the club.
The Manchester United legend, who left Newcastle in November 2021, took up the post at West Brom in February 2022 before stepping down in October 2022.
According to The Daily Mail, Bruce has now been linked with a sensational return to management after being linked with the Jamaica national team.
The newspaper added that the former Newcastle and West Brom boss had ‘held talks’ with officials from the country over the vacant Jamaica managerial role.
Jamaica have been without a manager since the end of June after Republic of Ireland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson stepped down as head coach.
Heimir Hallgrimsson led the Reggae Boyz through a dire 2024 Copa America campaign, with Jamaica losing all three of their Group B matches.
The Daily Mail reports that a decision is expected to come ‘within the next 10 days,’ with Bruce now considered a ‘serious contender’ for the management role.
Bruce is second Man Utd legend linked with role
United legend Dwight Yorke, much like Bruce, has been linked with the Jamaica national team after the country’s disappointing Copa America run this summer.
The 52-year-old former United striker has been out of the dugout since his spell with Australian side Macarthur came to an end in 2023.
The Daily Mirror reported earlier this month that Yorke had been tipped as a potential candidate to succeed Heimir Hallgrimsson at the Reggae Boyz.
According to the newspaper, the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) saw Yorke as a ‘prime candidate’ for the post and the United legend was ‘well respected.’
