Kevin Nolan has revealed why West Ham are failing to convince their targets to join the club this Summer.
Over recent years, West Ham have been treated to some of the most special and memorable seasons of their history. Three consecutive seasons of European football, a major trophy, and some brilliant players have all contributed to these campaigns being so unbelievable.
Signings like Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, and Lucas Paqueta, have all left fans baffled as to how they’ve convinced players of that calibre to join the club – they’re just exceptional.
However, former player and coach Kevin Nolan has provided his belief as to why the Hammers were able to attract these sorts of players and, more
importantly, why they’re failing to do so this Summer. “Again, Lucas Paqueta, he could be one . If we weren’t in Europe, he wouldn’t have come, and that is the be all and end all,” he claimed when speaking to talkSPORT.
“We got someone of his calibre and his quality to come to us and was able to produce the way he did and win us a trophy and be in Europe last year and into the again.”
Understandably, every player wants to be competing in Europe, but it’s only been one year since our Irons have gone without it. It’s not like they were a million miles off of getting it last season either. With that being said, we’ve always been a club that’s completed their business late, so it really wouldn’t be a surprise if some top players still come through the door between now and the end of the window.
