West Ham are exploring the possibility of signing Niclas Füllkrug from Borussia Dortmund, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The club have thus far found the recruitment of a new forward this summer a frustrating exercise, after weeks of talks with Aston Villa for Jhon Duran still failing to yield a positive conclusion.

It appears the club are now looking at alternative options, with our Podcast co-host and insider Ex reporting that Fullkrug is a player that West Ham are now considering should we not sign Duran.

“We can confirm the story that our good friend Dharmesh Sheth has broke is again one of the ambitious targets not mentioned since last year when we broke the interest in the player Niclas Füllkrug,” stated Ex on Patreon.

“The German international has had a good goals record in recent years and was formerly at Werder Bremen where recruitment consultant Max Hahn arrived from and Tim Stiedten had been at previously.

“This is another one of the players who impressed at the Euros and the club wanted the name kept quiet. He scored two goals for the host nation Germany in Euro 2024. This is an alternative option to Duran should we not get that over the line.

“His current club Dortmund’s signing of previous West Ham target Serhou Guirassy has meant that they are prepared to consider offers for the player. Both loan moves and a permanent deal are being considered and the German is said to be open to discussing terms with West Ham on a possible move.

“As we have also reported Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth is another target.

“West Ham are also looking at another target for the forward position who is younger but will be presented as an alternative to Duran too.”

Ex will be keeping fans up to date as the situation progresses.
