Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has shared how new manager Arne Slot wants the Reds to press next season compared to Jurgen Klopp.

The Anfield side are undergoing their biggest change in almost a decade with the appointment of Arne Slot, with Jurgen Klopp stepping down as Liverpool manager this summer after nine years of incredible success on the hot seat.

With Harvey Elliott highlighting the changes in Slot’s system, the general opinion from Liverpool’s players is that the Dutch coach will not tweak too much from what Klopp implemented over the years on Merseyside.

And defender Conor Bradley has now shared what Slot’s pressing will be like compared to Klopp’s.

Slot’s pressing to be ‘quite similar’ to Klopp’s at Liverpool

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Northern Ireland international noted how Slot and Klopp’s styles of pressing are not too dissimilar, with the Dutch coach keen to win the ball back as quickly as possible when out of possession.

With Liverpool’s success under Klopp built around how aggressive the Reds pressed, maintaining that style could be key to Slot succeeding in his first year on the touchline at Anfield.

And for Bradley, the system could be one that Liverpool’s players already understand, with the fullback saying when asked about different Slot’s style of pressing is compared to Klopp’s: “Just probably a bit more structure in the build-up phase.

“Obviously out of the ball it’s quite similar, we still want to press when we lose the ball, we still want it back as quick as we can. There’s not massive changes but there’s just little tweaks in there that will hopefully make us better. It’s been really good.”

Slot is perfect to evolve Liverpool tactically next season

Klopp left Liverpool at arguably the right time, with the German coach taking the Reds as far as they can go in nine brilliant years that saw one Premier League, one UEFA Champions League and numerous domestic titles.

And in Slot, Liverpool now have the perfect manager to take the Merseyside club into their next era, with the Dutch coach ideal to take Klopp’s ideas and to evolve them into something new and exciting.

Indeed, the Anfield side are ready for something new, and Slot can be the man to bring that change if can implement his ideas correctly and get his message across to the entire squad, which seems to be happening already.
