Arsenal are going to say goodbye to a number of homegrown young talents this summer.

Emile Smith Rowe is on the verge of joining Fulham, Reiss Nelson is being linked to Leicester and Eddie Nketiah looks like he may go to Marseille.

Another Arsenal youth talent has already left the club this summer.

Indeed, Mika Biereth left Arsenal for £4m to join Sturm Graz in Austria earlier in this window.

Arsenal fans were far from happy after Biereth was sold, but the feeling within the club is distinctly different.

According to Charles Watts, speaking on Inside Arsenal, Arsenal are in fact very happy with the deal they did to sell Biereth.

Arsenal happy with Mika Biereth deal

Watts shared what he knows about the ‘unbelievable’ forward.

“Yes we want to see them in the first-team, but that happens so rarely. Being able to develop these players to make sure they have a good career and to benefit financially is so important for the club.

“I know they’re very happy with the deal they did with Mika Biereth, and how it looks like his career may go,” Watts said.

Mika Biereth deal looks cheap

As much as Arsenal are happy with this deal, it has to be said that this Biereth deal does look cheap.

The striker looks to be a promising talent, he’s just 21 years old and he’s had a couple of decent loan spells.

Other young strikers such as Omari Kellyman are moving for massive money despite being at a similar stage in their development, and it does feel as though Arsenal could’ve received a bit more for Biereth.

As Watts says, sometimes it is about doing what is best for a player’s career, and Arsenal have seemingly done Biereth a favour in letting him go at a time where he needs consistent first-team football.
