UFC enthusiasts who support Liverpool, Everton and other football teams have been hit with a dress code notice ahead of UFC 304 at Manchester's Co-op Live. The event marks UFC's grand return to Manchester after a seven-year hiatus, featuring British champs Tom Aspinall and Leon Edwards in the spotlight.

Scouse fighters Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann are also set to throw down in the octagon. Ticket holders were given the heads-up about the clothing restriction via an email from Ticketmaster on behalf of UFC, which stated: "We look forward to welcoming you to UFC 304 at Co-op Live on Saturday 27 July 2024."

The message continued, "Ahead of planning your trip to Co-op Live, please be advised that football shirts will not be allowed into the venue. We kindly ask fans to avoid wearing football shirts for this event."

With the first prelims kicking off at 11pm on Saturday, and title fights including Aspinall and Edwards' not expected until after 4am, fans are in for a late-night or rather, early morning of MMA action.

In a chat with the Manchester Evening News about the contentious timing of the fights, Aspinall stated: "You know what, I've fought in all different time zones across the world and when you're fighting, you're fighting. Usually, I fight at about midnight. If you can fight at midnight but not four hours later, you're not that good in the first place."

"Do you know what I mean? When you're on, you're on. And if you're a professional athlete you should be ready to come on at any time."
