The agent of Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has finally broken his silence amidst ongoing links with West Ham United.

West Ham have been chasing Jhon Duran over the past few weeks, but it was claimed earlier today that we are unwilling to meet Aston Villa’s £35 million asking price.

However, it has also been suggested that Villa could lower those demands, if the Hammers include an inflated sell-on percentage clause.

It has already been well-documented that West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui is desperately on the hunt for a new striker.

If the Spaniard is to oversee some real progress at the London Stadium, bringing in a proper upgrade on Michail Antonio will be an absolute necessity.

Duran may be an unpolished gem, but he’s certainly a better quality striker than Antonio, there really is no doubt about that.

So is the Colombian really a top target for the Hammers?

His agent has just lifted the lid on that question…

Jhon Duran agent breaks silence amidst West Ham links

The Villa hitman has all of the ingredients needed to be a huge hit with the Hammers.

At just 20, he is already a highly accomplished centre-forward, and has the potential to become one of the very best in the game.

Duran possesses exceptional pace, is incredible strong in the air and in duels, and is a very good finisher when present with a goalscoring opportunity.

Now his agent, Jonathan Herrera, has spilled the beans about where his client could be playing next season…

Duran’s agent admitted that there is strong interest from the Hammers, as quoted by AS:

There is great interest from West Ham, we have been talking to them and the club. We are going to see what happens in the rest of the market.

I just can’t see how this transfer won’t happen.

I guess that Villa could continue to demand a ridiculous fee for him, but they need cash urgently amidst PSR concerns.

I think a fair deal would be £25-30 million, including a large sell-on clause, let’s say something like 15-20%.

The main thing is that Jhon Duran would take West Ham to another level, I have no doubts about that at all.

The concerning thing is that this transfer saga has the feel of one that will rumble on until deadline day, and we need players through the door now.
