The January transfer window will be welcomed with open arms at Wolves after a dire start to the season.
Gary O’Neil is up against it after seven games played in the Premier League, with Wolves sitting bottom of the table.
One point from a possible 21 is not where the Old Gold want to be, as pressure mounts on O’Neil’s side to perform to avoid a relegation battle.
Leading up to the season, very few would have predicted that Wolves would be in such a dull situation, placing extra importance on the January transfer window.

Wolves should target Adam Webster in January
The mistakes that Wolves made in the summer have been made clear early into the season, with the issue of defensive depth a real concern.
O’Neil and Matt Hobbs failed to recruit a centre-back with experience in the window, matters that weren’t made easier by Yerson Mosquera’s season-ending injury.
As a result, the manager has just three available central defenders to work with, making the January window a time to replenish the back line.
One way that the Old Gold could do so is by signing summer target Adam Webster, whom Wolves made contact with.

Journalist Liam Keen shared an update on Wolves’ stance on Webster, admitting that the Englishman is a player Wolves ‘like’ and a player who they might revisit in January.
The 29-year-old would bolster O’Neil’s options and add Premier League experience to the defence at Molineux, with the Brighton ace a firm option for the Old Gold to consider.
Wolves must consider axing Hwang Hee-chan
While welcoming a player to the defence is a must, so is putting some first team players under the microscope.
Wolves could be smart to offload Hwang Hee-chan in January if the Korean’s form does not dramatically improve.
The forward was one of the club’s best in spells over last season however, his approach this term has been nothing short of disastrous.
Hwang is not the only player to have underperformed so far but, there is interest in the striker, who was eyed by Marseille during the summer.

Marseille pushed to sign Hwang however, the South Korea international opted to stay at Molineux, something that hasn’t exactly gone to plan.
Currently seen as an out of form squad player, the Old Gold could generate some funds by offloading the 28-year-old should interest in the attacker still be circulating.
It’s been quite the turn of events for Hwang at Wolves over the past year, who was called ‘clinical’ by Micah Richards last term, only to be now viewed as a player whose ship might have sailed based on his current form.
The January transfer window is poised to be a time for significant movement at Molineux, with the weeks from now until the market opening being crucial for several figures at Wolves.
