The new owners at Chelsea have not been afraid to make some tough decisions since they took over the club.
A number of players who were fan favourites have been moved on when it seemed they would not stay on the terms Todd Boehly and co were offering, with that recently being the case for Conor Gallagher.
Chelsea fans were vocal in their discontent for this deal, although it does not seemed to have weakened their presence in the middle of the park.
There has been no real loyalty to those who have come through the academy, although one player who seems to have evaded this up to now is Reece James.
The club captain is yet to feature for the Blues this season, with Enzo Maresca stating that he doesn’t actually know when he will return.

Chelsea considering replacement for Reece James
The decision to move on from James is one that won’t be taken lightly, with him having the quality of the best in the world in his role. Kyle Walker previously described him as ‘complete’.
This is only when fit though, and unfortunately that has not been as often as anyone would like in recent seasons.
Journalist Graeme Bailey has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that there has been some consideration to signing a new right-back in 2025.

He said: “They are considering in 2025, maybe not January, but they know they need another right-back. It’s a difficult situation. It’s something they’re aware of. It’s a consideration – do they cut Reece James? It’s not a Conor Gallagher situation or anything like that.
“Does he need to leave the club to stay injury free? It’s frustrating for everyone. You’ve got arguably the best right-back in the world, but you’re not seeing him.
“Do you want to bring come in to compete with Gusto? I think that’s the conversation they’re having.”
Malo Gusto starring since joining
Chelsea will be delighted with the impact Malo Gusto has had since joining the club, with him becoming a crucial member of the first team squad quicker than he will have perhaps expected.
James is yet to return to first team training this season, and when Gusto was injured there was a real issue in the right-back position.
Maresca started both Axel Disasi and Wesley Fofana there, with the former showing it is by far not his strongest role.
