Manchester United will be under great pressure to secure three points when they resume their Premier League campaign against Brentford in just over a week's time.
United will welcome the Bees to Old Trafford on October 19 with the ambition of halting a five-game winless run in all competitions. Last Sunday's 0-0 draw with Aston Villa also marked a third successive league game without a goal.
United currently find themselves 14th in the Premier League table and are under mounting pressure to turn their fortunes around. It still remains to be seen how much longer manager Erik ten Hag will be granted.

United's draw with Villa was compounded by the losses of Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo. Both players were withdrawn at Villa Park and Mainoo has since been forced to pull out of the England squad for their clashes with Greece and Finland.
With that said, here is all the very latest on the United injury front ahead of the campaign resuming in just over a week's time...
Noussai Mazraoui
Injury: Unknown
Mazraoui has been forced to withdraw from the Morocco squad for this international period after encountering an injury against Villa. The nature or extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed, but the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, on Monday, said he had been forced to pull out of the squad.
Ten Hag will be asked to provide an update on him when he speaks to the media next week.
Possible return date: Unknown.
Harry Maguire
Injury: Foot
Maguire was forced off at the end of the first half against Villa on Sunday, later revealing that he will be sidelined for "for a few weeks". He had been drafted into the starting XI after scoring a dramatic equaliser against FC Porto three days earlier.
He was replaced by Matthijs de Ligt at Villa Park after limping off the pitch with the support of members of United's medical team.
Posting on Instagram on Tuesday, Maguire said: "Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline for me but I'll come back stronger."
Possible return date: Unknown.
Leny Yoro
Injury: Fractured metatarsal
Yoro, who joined United from Lille during the summer transfer window, fractured his metatarsal in the opening game of the club's pre-season tour of the United States. He required surgery and it was forecasted he could be out for up to three months.
However, he is making good progress with his recovery, with the Manchester Evening News revealing last month that he was already walking without crutches and working hard in the gym at Carrington.
He issued a fresh update on his recovery on Wednesday, sharing a video on social media of himself on a treadmill, writing: "On the way back."
Possible return date: November.
Luke Shaw
Injury: Calf
It was announced three days before United's Premier League opener against Fulham that Shaw would miss the start of the season with a calf injury. United, at the time, said he would be working towards the ambition of returning after the September international break.
However, the England international is still yet to make his first appearance of the season. Ten Hag has recently been optimistic about the left-back's chances of returning after this current international break.
Issuing an update on Shaw, who has not played for United since February, last week, Ten Hag said: "We hope Luke Shaw can return after the international break quickly.
"I don't know if it's the first game, we're hoping for. I can’t in this moment tell this 100 per cent with security but from now on we have two-and-a-half weeks to work to the point but shortly definitely after he will be there.
Possible return date: October 19 (Brentford H).
Tyrell Malacia
Injury: Knee
Malacia has not featured for United since the final day of the 2022/23 Premier League season because of a knee injury. He has been working hard on his rehabilitation programme and Ten Hag said he could be back in contention within the next couple of months at the start of August.
Ten Hag explained: "He is not that far , but he is now in a progress situation. At a relatively short notice, he can again return into team training and then into team performance in games. I think it would be possible in two months."
Malacia has been back on the grass at Carrington and has participated in training sessions.
Possible return date: October.
Kobbie Mainoo
Injury: Unknown
Mainoo was taken off in the latter stages of the draw with Villa, resulting in him being forced to pull out of the England squad the following day. He played no part in the clash with Porto because of a suspected hamstring issue and it remains to be seen if he returned against Villa too soon.
Ten Hag will be asked to provide clarity on his situation when he speaks to the media next week.
Possible return date: Unknown.
Mason Mount
Injury: Knock
Mount, who experienced an injury-plagued campaign last term, has missed each of United's last two matches after being forced off with a head injury against Tottenham Hotspur just under a fortnight ago.
The head injury required stitches and Ten Hag, speaking ahead of the draw with Porto, said he had also encountered a knock. He did not elaborate on the severity of the injury.
Possible return date: Unknown.
Alejandro Garnacho
Injury: Knee
Despite playing the full 90 minutes against Villa, Garnacho withdrew from the Argentina squad for their upcoming clashes with Venezuela and Bolivia because of a knee problem. It is understood that he has been managing the problem in recent weeks and his omission from the Argentina squad is a precautionary measure.
It is understood that he should be fine for the clash with Brentford in just over a week's time. Writing on Instagram on Monday, Garnacho said: "I had knee problems in the last two games and I won't be able to be with the national team. But I hope to recover so I can be on the next date."
Possible return date: October 19 (Brentford H).
