The Arsenal academy staff are tasked with deciding who will form next season’s scholarship intake.
Given that there are eleven first year scholars this season, Arsenal will be able to offer deals to up to 19 players for next season but they do not have to use all of those spaces.
It is important to note that Max Dowman will not be part of next season’s intake as he won’t be able to sign scholarship terms until the 2026/27 campaign.
Brando Bailey-Joseph is perhaps the most high profile of the current U16s, with the highly rated England youth international winger having already featured prominently for Arsenal U18s.
Goalkeepers Jack Talbot and Danny Dixon have also been involved with the U18 squad.
Midfielder Teshaun Murisa is highly regarded, while defender Marli Salmon impressed during pre-season and also subsequently made his competitive debut for the U18s.
Saurap Sampang can make an impact in defence or midfield, while winger Marley Frohock featured for the U18s against Birmingham City last weekend after scoring with regularity for the younger age groups.
Attacker Jayden Adetiba has frequently impressed for the U16s and has also featured competitively for the U18s.
Abraham Owusu-Gyasi impressed at right-back for the U18s in pre-season and defender Patrick Stachow has featured for England at U16 level, while he is also eligible to represent Poland.
Midfielder Maalik Hashi trained with the first-team last month.
Bowen Phillips, who joined from West Ham, missed the start of the season through injury but is a talented winger.
Joshua Tahou and Robert Adams are other players who are in contention for deals.
St Johnstone defender Callan Hamill, a Scotland U16 international, could also be part of the intake after spending time on trial at Arsenal in pre-season.
There could also be further new signings to add to the intake.
Arsenal have the option to offer contracts to the majority of their U16 players and next season’s intake has the potential to be a rather large one, certainly in comparison to this season.
