Crystal Palace and Arsenal have had contrasting starts to the Premier League season, with the Eagles near the foot of the table and the Gunners near the top.

Oliver Glasner’s Palace haven’t kicked on from their bright end to last season, with Palace currently sitting 18th in the table without a league win to their name.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have begun the campaign brightly, sit third in the table, and remain unbeaten in all competitions.

New signings could be on the cards for both clubs in the January transfer window. Palace will want to strengthen to avoid the drop, while Arsenal will want to push on for the title.

Now, according to a report from GiveMeSport, the Eagles could step up their interest in a player linked with the Emirates Stadium outfit.

Crystal Palace eyeing Arsenal target Bazoumana Toure

The player in question is Hammarby prodigy Bazoumana Toure, who has been making a real name for himself in the Swedish top flight this year.

According to GiveMeSport, Palace are prepared to step their interest up in the coming weeks ahead of a 2025 move for the 18-year-old winger.

The Mirror reported in September that Arsenal and Manchester United were among the clubs interested in Toure.

However, GiveMeSport say Palace’s interest is understood to be high, and they may look to advance a deal to an ‘active’ level at the start of next year.

The report goes on to say Selhurst Park chiefs are aware that Toure is just 18, but they think he has an extremely high ceiling in terms of potential.

Palace are seemingly hoping that making an early move for the £8million-rated ace could give them an advantage before big clubs begin showing more concrete interest.

Scottish champions Celtic are also said to be keen on Toure, who has an impressive seven goals and three assists from 19 Allsvenskan outings this term.

What Fabrizio Romano has said about Toure

Early in October, Romano spoke to CaughtOffside about links between Toure and Man United, and he was eager to sing the youngster’s praises.

“Some fans have asked me about the reports in the Swedish media linking the Red Devils with Hammarby’s 18-year-old talent Bazoumana Toure,” he said.

“However, my understanding is that there is nothing concrete happening at the moment, it’s just normal scouting activity.

“For sure, Toure is a very interesting and promising talent so obviously clubs are following him, but not only United.

“It’s more than ten clubs sending their scouts to follow him, so at the moment it’s just a case of clubs monitoring the player and it’s too early to mention things about his future.”
