Nottingham Forest have enjoyed an impressive start to the season, which has led to the club looking to extend the contracts of a couple of players.

Nuno Espirito Santo has gotten the very best out of a number of Nottingham Forest players, which now sees the Reds sit in tenth position heading into the international break.

Ola Aina is one player who has surpassed expectations after joining on a free transfer last summer, with the a permanent starting spot now his.

Interestingly, it has been claimed by John Percy that Nottingham Forest are set to open contract talks with Ola Aina in the near future, as just reward for his performances.

However, Aina’s improvement in performances has seen him attract the attention of AS Roma.

Now, Evangelos Marinakis is looking to tie a different player down to a new deal.

According to Alex Crook, Nottingham Forest are keen to tie Chris Wood down to a new deal.

It’s stated that the Reds are set to open talks with Wood over a new contract after becoming a key man for Nuno Espirito Santo.

His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, but Nuno is keen to tie him down.

Chris Wood’s season to date at Nottingham Forest

Chris Wood just keeps on getting better with age.

Ally McCoist has labelled Wood a ‘nightmare’ for putting his body about and causing defenders all kinds of issues in the Premier League this season.

He’s scored four goals in seven games in the Premier League, which has put Wood behind Stan Collymore and Bryan Roy in the goalscoring charts.

Taiwo Awoniyi has been the main man Nottingham Forest have turned to at times in recent years, but Wood is now firmly Nuno Espirito Santo’s main striker.
