Everton manager Sean Dyche joined a host of football stars at the Nordoff Robbins’ Legends of Football event to honour Wayne Rooney

After switching to a tracksuit late last season to steer Everton to Premier League safety, Blues boss Sean Dyche was back in his previous touchline garb of a shirt and tie as he attended the Nordoff Robbins’ Legends of Football event. With many of his first team squad currently away on international duty, Dyche spent Monday night in the capital as he accepted an invite to the function at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in London’s Mayfair district, which including a drinks reception and three-course dinner before speeches and the awards ceremony.

The 53-year-old was photographed with fellow manager Wayne Rooney of Plymouth Argyle, who as a player was arguably the most-talented player ever produced by Everton’s academy, while he also posed for pictures with broadcaster Kelly Cates, the daughter of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, and his own son, Max Dyche, 21, who is currently on loan at Woking from Northampton Town. Every year, the worlds of football and music come together at Legends of Football to honour the greatest names in the game and since 1996, the star-studded event has raised more than £8.5million for music therapy work.

The event has enjoyed 20 years of celebrating the achievements and careers of some of the greatest footballers and managers in the game. This year Legends of Football honoured two icons, the aforementioned Rooney, plus England’s most capped women’s player, Fara Williams, who had spells with both Everton and Liverpool.
