Wrexham co-owner and Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds has cheekily urged Mohamed Salah to consider a stunning move to the Welsh club, with his Liverpool contract up next summer.

Salah has another year remaining on his Anfield deal and was expected to be the subject of fresh interest from Saudi Pro League clubs this summer. But as yet there has been no offer and he is set to remain at Liverpool under new boss Arne Slot.

The Reds have jetted to the United States for their pre-season tour, ahead of matches against Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Betis. And they will be joined Stateside by Wrexham and their Hollywood owners.

The League One side takes on Premier League opposition in Chelsea on Thursday and Reynolds couldn't resist the opportunity to call out one of the top-flight's biggest stars.

Reynolds, currently promoting his blockbuster film 'Deadpool and Wolverine' with Hugh Jackman, got candid during an interview organised by the Premier League.

After Jackman sang the praises of Salah, likening to himself in terms of professionalism and longevity, Reynolds couldn't help but shoot his shot and send a personal transfer plea.

"Salah, to even be in the same sentence as you is incredibly cool! " exclaimed Jackman. "And I went to see you by the way when we were filming - playing against Crystal Palace. I think you're awesome and I think you're amazing, and please, please, please respond to my DMs!"

Reynolds then seized his moment, gazing into the camera and said: "Mo you would be warmly embraced at the Racecourse Ground in North Wales," he declared. "Think about it."

Wrexham have enjoyed a meteoric rise under Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. They now find themselves in League One after back-to-back promotions, with dreams of the Premier League within their grasp. The Welsh side caught global attention thanks to the hit Netflix series "Welcome to Wrexham" and will look to boost their profile this summer.
