Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has revealed crypto companies are currently looking to agree a naming rights deal at the club’s new stadium.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted there are several options currently on the table for the Merseyside giants.
Everton are set to leave Goodison Park at the end of this season and move into their new state-of-the-art facility on Bramley-Moore Dock.
But despite the development being projected to cost around £500million, it is now expected to set the Merseysiders back more than £800million.
The Liverpool Echo reported on 1 October Everton have received offers from organisations looking to win the battle for the naming rights at the new stadium.
The hunt for a new agreement came after talks were ended over a £10million-a-year deal with Alisher Usmanov-linked USM Services Limited following the sanctions placed on the Russian oligarch in 2022.

Everton could strike stadium deal soon to deliver new revenue stream
But Wyness admitted he’s surprised Everton haven’t already struck a new deal with any of the interested parties.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “My understanding is that there are some financial services companies.
“There are also some crypto companies involved at the moment and the assumption is that Toyota will be coming involved with Friedkin.
“That may just be wishing thinking, putting two and two together to make five, but I know that there are a number of options.
“What has surprised me is that a deal hasn’t landed already.
“It’s normally a very important year the year when you’re just finishing building because that stadium is in the news all the time, and right now it’s the centre of attention in terms of Liverpool, the fanbase, and it’s getting a lot of national mentions.
“It would make sense for a sponsor to have their name on it right now and get the big buzz off the pre-opening.

“That hasn’t happened, so I would hope it will happen as soon as they can.
“I would hope before Christmas there will be a naming rights sponsor in place and then the money starts to come in as part of the new revenue streams that we expect to see from a new stadium.”
