Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick has said Ipswich Town loanee George Edmundson deserves ‘credit’ for the way he has adapted to life at the Riverside Stadium.
Middlesbrough landed the centre-back on a temporary basis in the last transfer window to bolster their squad.

Edmundson, 27, has made five appearances for the Championship side since then and has slotted into their backline nicely, chipping in with a single goal.
Carrick has been impressed and has said, as per a report by The Northern Echo: “George has done very well and shown a level of experience and maturity in the way that he’s played. He’s played right side, played left, he’s had different partners, and he’s not been flustered and nothing has fazed him. Credit to him for that.
“Being part of the Ipswich team last season and knowing what it takes to be successful in this league, and the confidence, has really shone through.”
Middlesbrough’s move for Edmundson has worked out well so far.
He was given the green light to leave Ipswich Town on loan to get some regular game time under his belt.

The Mancunian started his career at Oldham Athletic and rose up through their academy ranks.
He went on to play 79 games for their first-team following spells away from Boundary Park in non-league at Ramsbottom United, Alfreton Town and AFC Fylde to get some experience.
Rangers lured him to Scotland in 2019 and he spent two years at Ibrox, as well as being loaned out to Derby County, before the Tractor Boys signed him.
Edmundson has since featured on 75 occasions for Kieran McKenna’s side and helped them win back-to-back promotions from League One to the top flight.
What now?
His opportunities will have dried up at Ipswich Town this term, hence why he was allowed to leave for Middlesbrough.
He has begun life under Carrick well and will be eager to keep his form going.
Boro are back in action after the international break with a home clash against Bristol City as they look to bounce back from their loss to Watford.
