Liverpool could be set for a busy 2025 when it comes to transfers if the latest rumour mill is anything to be believed. The Reds signed Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili during the summer transfer window, with the latter spending the season on loan at Valencia.

Arne Slot is enjoying his first season as Liverpool's new head coach and has won nine of his first 10 matches in charge in all competitions. The Reds have entered the October international break top of the Premier League table, in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, and have won two out of two in the Champions League.

There are less than three months until the January transfer window opens, giving Liverpool the chance to strengthen their squad again should they wish to do so. The Reds are already being linked with several potential new signings as the New Year approaches.

The ECHO takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool news and gossip to generate headlines over the last 24 hours.

Mohamed Salah is reportedly a target for a club in the United States heading into 2025. According to TBR Football, new Major League Soccer outfit San Diego FC want to sign Salah as one of their three designated players.

The report claims that San Diego have identified Salah and Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne as targets for next year. It has been stated that the club, which will officially join the MLS for the 2025 season, are determined to add Salah to their ranks for their first season in the league.

Salah's contract at Liverpool is currently set to expire at the end of June next year. Talks remain ongoing between the Reds and the Egyptian's representatives over a potential extension.

Elsewhere, FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Daniel Svensson has opened up on rumours that he is a transfer target for Liverpool. Reports in recent months have speculated that the Reds may have an interest in signing the 22-year-old in 2025.

Svensson was asked about the possibility of signing for a club like Liverpool amid the rumours that he could move to Anfield. The talented midfielder, who has 17 caps for Sweden Under-21s, admitted it was a surprise to see the speculation focused on a possible move to Liverpool.

"Great fun, of course," Svensson told Fotbollskanalen when asked about the links to Liverpool. "It's a sign that I'm doing something right and performing well.

"I just take it as fuel to run on. It was obviously a bit surreal. It was perhaps not entirely expected that I would get to read about it."
