Tottenham Hotspur once again find themselves going into the international break on the back of a hugely underwhelming result.
Earlier in the season, Ange Postecoglou‘s side went into the international break having lost up on Tyneside against Newcastle United.
Sunday’s result against Brighton & Hove Albion was even worse with the Lilywhites having blown what was a stunning first half performance.
Tottenham completely dominated the Seagulls down on the south coast during the opening 45 minutes where they earned a well-deserved lead.
But what the visiting fans saw in the second half of the game was nothing short of a disatser and some of the comments made after the game have not gone down well.

What Ange Postecoglou said after Tottenham’s defeat to Brighton
Having dominated the game in the first half, everything fell apart very quickly for Tottenham after half time with the Gulls having taken the lead by the 66th minute.
However, Postecoglou did not make a change until the 79th minute of the game leaving little time for his substitutes to make an impact.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold admitted he was disappointed to hear Postecoglou admit he didn’t make substitutions earlier as he didn’t want his side to be falsely rewarded.
“I’m sorry that was just, for me, was one of Postecoglou’s contrary moments that he does sometimes where he’ll just say something just to be like: ‘No, no, you haven’t figured me out’,” Gold said.
“I’m sorry. The false reward thing was like, yeah, say that to the players after if you want, if they still win it, say to them, you know, you didn’t deserve that. That’s going to be so much better next time. That’s fine, but don’t come out and kind of claim like it wouldn’t really make any difference making subs, because ultimately, we didn’t deserve to win the game. No, change the game, win it and then fix the problems after that one.”
“I just feel like that one was one that was tinged with a bit of emotion. Too much emotion for a guy that normally thinks about what he says. But that was one I wasn’t a massive fan of.”
Tottenham could’ve made real statement with Brighton win
Three points on the weekend would have had Tottenham going into the international break in sixth spot of the Premier League table.
It would have also kept their winning streak going following their North London Derby defeat.
Instead, Spurs are left questioning a number of things ahead of their game against West Ham United following the return next week.
And the comments made by Postecoglou may also raise a number of questions from the fans who would have wanted to see changes made earlier to prevent the huge swing in momentum.
