Man Utd have been handed another injury scare at the start of the international break.
Manchester United are hopeful Alejandro Garnacho will be available for their home match against Brentford after the international break despite withdrawing from the Argentina squad through injury.
The 20-year-old was named in the Argentina side for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia, but withdrew from international duty shortly after he played in United's goalless draw with Aston Villa at the weekend.
Garnacho withdrew from Lionel Scaloni's side due to an ongoing knee problem that he has been managing for the last few days and led to him starting on the bench for the Europa League draw against FC Porto a week ago. The Argentine youngster subsequently wore strapping around his left knee as he played the entirety of their goalless draw at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.

United played down the severity of Garnacho's injury issues and confirmed his withdrawal was primarily a precautionary measure as they look to protect him ahead of a bumper fixture run in the months ahead. The academy graduate is expected to be in Erik ten Hag's matchday squad when they host Brentford in the Premier League a week on Saturday.
Taking to social media on Monday, Garnacho issued an update on his injury situation and explained why he withdrew from the Argentina squad. "I had knee problems in the last two matches, and I won't be able to be with the national team, but I hope to recover so I can be on the next date," he wrote. Garnacho has made seven appearances for the senior Argentina side since he made his debut in June 2023.
