Ibrahima Konate made a fashion statement upon reporting for international duty with France as rumors continue to suggest Liverpool is ready to offer the centerback a new contract

Center-back Ibrahima Konate turned heads with his latest fashion choice after Liverpool secured a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace heading into the international break.

The 25-year-old French defenseman pulled out of a black sportscar branded by the French Football Federation and wore a dark brown suit with a detailed matching pattern as he arrived on international duty. But the standout feature of the outfit was the bright neon green mesh hood covering his head and face, leaving the average fan totally confused at who could be the man under the hood.

Konate's neon green hoody sleeves extended beyond the suit's cuffs for a unique layered style. A minimally designed pair of black shoes completed the outfit. Soccer fans were quick to react to Konate's outfit after it was posted online. One fan said, "Konate what is this? They need to do something about this French players."

Another fan commented, "It's all about creating a buzz and getting noticed these days! Konate definitely knows how to make an impact for France. Can't blame them for wanting to stand out in the crowd."

While the outfit choice was polarizing, fashion lovers pointed out appreciation for the details in the clothing and praised the rest of France's players for their style. Photos of Jules Kounde's outfits continued to flood the post as fans chose which defenseman has the better style.

Konate arrived in style to meet up with the fresh of his French teammates as the squad is set to play an upcoming Nations League match against Israel on Oct. 10. He was a part of the squad's 2-0 Group B match over Belgium last month, despite not logging a minute on the pitch.

The Liverpool defender was reported to be a point of priority for the Reds future. Jarell Quansah recently signed an extension with the club, with Konate expected to follow. He signed a two-year deal with the club in 2021 that is set to expire in June 2026.
