Thomas Tuchel could get the best out of Mason Mount at Manchester United. Amid increasing scrutiny on Erik ten Hag's leadership and with a 'crisis summit' set to discuss his future, the former Chelsea manager is being lined up as a possible successor at Old Trafford.
If Tuchel, who has both Dortmund and PSG on his resume, makes the switch, it could pave the way for a reunion with Mount, whom he managed at Stamford Bridge.
During his tenure with Chelsea, Tuchel had high regard for the young midfielder, often lauding him for his positive energy. He remarked during his time with the Blues: "It's not a statistic which guarantees you to start because this would be too easy.

"But it is something we are aware of and we will not deny that having Mason brings a certain attitude and an aura and a mentality on the field. It is very hard to drop him because even if he has a not so good game, you'll always get full energy and positivity and a wonderful approach."
The praise from Tuchel did not end there; he emphasized Mount's comprehensive abilities and robust character. "He has the full package, mentally, in terms of talent and physically and the most important part is his character, he has his feet on the ground and he's a nice guy.", he said, via the Mirror.
"He comes to Cobham every day to learn something new and have new experiences. He is the guy who can recover very fast, he's a very physical player and is fully adapted to PL football. He has big self confidence in a very, very positive way.
"It's a pleasure to have him, be at his side and guide him and support him. It's impressive, he's not affected by all the praise. This is maybe the most important part. He seems to be a guy who likes the sport, and feels an obligation to make the most out of it and he wants it absolutely badly, so it's a top mix." Mount, 26, enjoyed a hugely positive period under Tuchel. He made 87 appearances under the German, during his time at Chelsea, scoring 19 times.
The pair also helped Chelsea to their second Champions League crown. Mount has not been able to enjoy that sort of fortune with the Reds.
The midfielder has made just 25 appearances for United and scored only once since his £55m move from Stamford Bridge. A potential arrival of Tuchel could therefore be good news for the midfielder as he looks to kick start his United career.
