Lee Carsley raised eyebrows by snubbing West Ham star Jarrod Bowen for his latest England squad and now he may have to beg him to come back.
Jarrod Bowen was left out of the England squad by interim boss Lee Carsley for the October internationals.
Hammers supporters were furious at the decision. And they’re not alone.
Just when West Ham thought they had seen the back of a manager with a “big six bias” – it seems the latest pretender to the England throne is cut from the same cloth.
Bowen was called up by Carsley for the September internationals and impressed in brief cameos.
But he was dropped this time around and was not the only West Ham star overlooked either.
Max Kilman and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have also been ignored despite Carsley declaring it was a clean slate.
Kilman has been brilliant since arriving at West Ham in a £40m deal.

And Wan-Bissaka is comfortably the best defensive right-back in the Premier League. He has also shown his versatility by playing at left-back for the Hammers – a problem position for England right now.
The Irons trio were absolutely brilliant in West Ham’s 4-1 win over Ipswich on Saturday.
Bowen insists he won’t let Carsley’s rejection affect him.

Agbonlahor savages England boss over Bowen snub
But one outspoken talkSPORT pundit has taken umbrage at the omission on the Hammers talisman’s behalf.
Gabby Agbonlahor has savaged the England boss over his Bowen snub and now he may have to beg the West Ham star to return.
Former Premier League and England striker Agbonlahor named Bowen in his team of the week.
And he simply cannot believe Carlsey left him out, saying the Hammers ace made him look silly against Ipswich.
“He has not been at his best this season, and that’s a reason why he has been left out of the England squad, but if ever there was a performance that said to Lee Carsley how dare you leave me out, it was this,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT.
“He was everywhere, he got two assists, one in the first minute for Michail Antonio, he got another one later on for (Lucas) Paqueta, but the way he took his goal, yes, poor, poor defending from Kalvin Phillips but that little shimmy, you know with his left foot and to composedly finish it into the corner, great finish from Jarrod Bowen.
“He has just got to do that every week now, every week, and he has to think to himself, goal and assist, goal and assist, and there’s no reason why he can’t get back into that England squad, but I thought he was outstanding against Ipswich, one of the best games I have seen him.”

Now Carsley may have to beg West Ham star to return
Ironically Carsley may now be forced to go cap in hand to Bowen for the games against Greece and Finland.
Because midfielders Morgan Gibbs-White and Kobbie Mainoo – along with defender Ezri Konsa – have pulled out of the Three Lions squad.
It remains to be seen whether Carlsey will reach out to Bowen as one of the replacements.
Although it would be an embarrassing call to make, it would be an ever bigger snub were Carsley not to bother.
It is a strange decision from Carsley given he called Bowen up for the September matches.
West Ham’s captain did more in his nine minutes on the pitch up front in one game than Harry Kane had done in the 80-odd before.
Bowen, with four, has more goals and assists in the Premier League this season than England call-ups Noni Madueke (three), Dominic Solanke (two), Anthony Gordon (two), Jack Grealish (one), Gibbs-White (one) and Phil Foden (zero).
