“I’m delighted to be joining West Ham United,” said Healy. “I was excited to be given the opportunity to present to Rehanne and the team recently and felt energised and enthused by the long-term vision of the Club.
“I have come up against Rehanne many times over the years and have the upmost respect for the work that she achieved at Leicester City and the foundations that were laid during her tenure.
“I’m now looking forward to being part of this project and I hope I can use my experience to develop the current crop of players at West Ham United.”
Skinner is delighted to be adding Healy to her coaching team, citing his experience and passion for the women’s game as major reasons for his appointment.
“I’m really pleased to have Steve join us,” said the manager. “Steve has a wealth of experience working across different levels of the game, including within the women’s game. Steve will help us to build confidence around our attacking play whilst also managing and enhancing our players’ individual development programmes.
“He has a proven track record in improving the performances of senior players, as well as transitioning youth players into the first team. Both are qualities that will be well suited for the role that we have created at West Ham United.
“Having two daughters of his own, one already in an Academy programme, Steve is a huge advocate for the women’s game, and we know he will be a real asset for us moving forwards.”
Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Stephen to the Club, and we wish him every success in his new role.
