Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne could soon move to the Saudi Pro League and become Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate at Al-Nassr if media reports are to be believed. As per a report in Mundo Deportivo, the 39-year-old Ronaldo has asked Al-Nassr to acquire the services of Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne to help the club compete against Al-Hilal’s dominance.

While AL-Nassr are still to win their first AFC Champions League Elite title and have not won the Saudi Pro League since 2019, Al-Hilal have won the league four times in the last five seasons. Al-Hilal have also won the Champions League four times.

de Bruyne knows how to win titles

Considering Al-Hilal’s dominance in Saudi Arabia and Asia, de Bruyne will be a great addition to Al-Nassr considering the midfielder has won the Premier League title seven times with Manchester City. His contract with City expires in 2025 and the 33-year-old playmaker has struggled with injuries regularly in recent past.

A transfer to the Saudi Pro League will surely help de Bruyne extend his career and make a lot of money. Al-Nassr are reportedly ready to pay a £1 million-a-week salary plus a £50 million signing-on fee to the footballer to help him make up his mind.

de Bruyne won’t mind joining Al-Nassr

He has also already given hints that he is willing to move to Saudi Arabia.

For Michele (De Bruyne’s wife), an exotic adventure is okay. These are also conversations that we are increasingly having as a family. I still have one year left on my contract, so I have to think about what could happen. My eldest is now eight years old and knows nothing but England. He also asks how long I will play for City. Once the moment comes, we will have to deal with it in a certain way,” de Bruyne told Belgian publication HLN.

“At my age you have to be open to everything. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that. If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that, I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet. Then you have to think about what that could mean next. But at the moment I haven’t had to think about that yet,” he added.
