We caught-up with goalscorer Mollie Lambert after the 1-0 win at Newcastle United.

Here’s what she had to say…

Lambert on the win…

“There’s not many more dramatic ways to win it.

“We got in at half-time at 0-0 and we were under the cosh in the first half, but in the second half we improved.

“We said it would only take one chance and it fell to me!”

Lambert on the defensive effort…

“Unreal – especially in that first half.

“We knew we weren’t at the races and went in at half-time saying we knew it needed to be better.

“T came to save us multiple times, even in the second half, so we’re really grateful to her today.”

Lambert on her winning goal..

“I can’t even remember what happened!

“The ball just fell to me and I knocked it in. What better way to do it?”

Lambert on what the win means…

“It’s just unreal.

“There’s a different side to us this year. Everyone is buzzing.

“We always say now when we score goals, we celebrate them – so that’s what I did!”

Lambert on the travelling fans…

“They were unreal and we were so glad to have them behind us.

“We heard them and especially coming here, when the crowd is on top of us, it was unreal to celebrate with them at the end.”
