England
Brighton & Hove Albion won 4-2 in an entertaining match against Aston Villa. The scores were locked at 2-2 before Paula Tomás was sent off in the 76th minute. That opened the door for the Seagulls, who took the lead from a Fran Kirby penalty. A Michelle Agyemang stoppage time goal sealed the result for Dario Vidosic’s team.
Charlie Rule was unavailable for Brighton in this game.
Mary Fowler was on the scoresheet as Manchester City defeated West Ham 2-0. Lauren Hemp scored early – assisted by Fowler - before the Matilda made it comfortable for City in the second half. The win puts City on top of the table after three rounds.

Fowler started and played the full match, while Alanna Kennedy came off the bench in the second half. Katrina Gorry played the full match in midfield for West Ham.
Everton secured a point against Arsenal for the first time in 14 WSL matches, coming away with a 0-0 draw at the Emirates. Despite the Gunners 69% possession, and 21 shots to 5, they weren’t able to find a way through a stout Everton defence. The Blues even came close to stealing a goal of their own in the first half, only to be denied by a fantastic save by Daphne van Domselaar.
Kyra Cooney-Cross started the match for Arsenal, while Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley were both second-half substitutes – this being Catley’s first game for Arsenal since recovering from a lower leg injury.
Clare Wheeler started in midfield for Everton and was a key part of the solidity that saw them keep a clean sheet.
A second-half equaliser to Clare Hunt wasn’t enough for Tottenham Hotspur, as a stoppage-time penalty consigned them to a 3-2 defeat against Liverpool. Cornelia Kapocs gave the Reds the lead in the first half before Spurs hit back. Hunt’s 83rd-minute strike made it 2-2, only for Marie Höbinger to score the winner in the 95th.

Hunt started the game for Spurs, as did Hayley Raso. Charli Grant was an unused substitute. Meanwhile, Teagan Micah was unavailable through injury for Liverpool.
Crystal Palace secured their first win in the top flight, defeating Leicester City 2-0. A second-half brace to Annabel Blanchard was the difference as Palace took a huge stride in their attempt to stay in the league this season. Courtney Nevin was an unused substitute for the Foxes.
France
Lyon defeated Montpellier 4-0, continuing on their perfect start to the season. Defender Wendie Renard got scoring underway before Lindsey Horan, Melchie Dumornay and Sara Däbritz made sure of it in the second half. Ellie Carpenter started the game before being withdrawn midway through the second stanza, marking her 100th appearance for the French club.

Paris FC were the victims of a late smash-and-grab from Saint-Étienne, the home side coming away 1-0 victors thanks to a stoppage-time goal to Cindy Caputo. Paris dominated the game with more shots and possession but Caputo put away Saint-Étienne’s only shot on target – and ultimately the only one that mattered. Sarah Hunter came off the bench in the second half for Paris FC.
United States
Cortnee Vine made her return to the pitch as her North Carolina Courage side defeated the San Diego Wave 2-1. Two first-half goals were enough for the Courage, hanging on to the lead despite a late surge from the Wave. The result secured the Courage’s place in the playoffs, while the Wave will have to hope a lot of things go their way to plug the six-point gap required.
Emily van Egmond started in San Diego’s midfield, while Kaitlyn Torpey was a second-half substitute. Vine was introduced into the game for the Courage in the 78th minute.
The Portland Thorns were defeated 2-1 by the Utah Royals on Sunday. The goals were scored in six minutes of madness that saw the Royals take a two-goal lead before a penalty to Olivia Moultrie gave the Thorns hope. They weren’t able to equalise, however, and the Royals secured a vital three points to keep them off the bottom of the table.
Mackenzie Arnold was unavailable for the Thorns.
Sweden
FC Rosengård secured the Damallsvenskan title with a 2-1 victory over Kristianstads DFF. It takes their record to a remarkable 22 wins from 22 games – they will now be fighting for a perfect season over the next four rounds.
Remy Siemsen and Clare Polkinghorne both started for Kristianstads, but were unable to help their team become the first to take points off the league champions.
BK Häcken defeated Vittsjö GIK 3-1 to put themselves in second on the table. Paulina Nyström and Elma Novah Junttila-Nelhage were the goalscorers for Häcken. Aivi Luik remains unavailable for her side.
It was heartbreak for AIK Fotboll on the weekend as an 88th-minute equaliser to Viivi Ollonqvist denied them what would have been a crucial three points against KIF Örebro DFF. Maja Johansson gave them the lead early in the second half before Örebro fought back.
It means that the two sides remain locked on 16 points with four games to go. AIK are currently in the automatic relegation zone on goal difference, while Örebro are in a relegation playoff place. Both teams will be desperate to secure as many points as they can for the remainder of the season.
Jada Whyman started in goals for AIK.
Denmark
FC Nordsjælland defeated Køge 2-0 to retain their place on top of the league table. Anna Walter and Alma Aagard were the goal scorers. Winonah Heatley started and played the full match for the defending champions.
Netherlands
FC Twente played out a scoreless draw with PSG over the weekend. It is a disappointing result for the defending champions who will hope to bounce back midweek in the champions league. Daniela Galic was an unused substitute.
