The Leicester City boss, who has been coming under increasing pressure in recent weeks, claimed the club's first win of the season at home against an impressive Bournemouth side. Steve Cooper was happy with the 1-0 win, and quickly showed praise to his side.
It was the Argentinian midfielder Facundo Buonanotte who scored the only goal of the game on 16 minutes. The Argentinian got onto a ball from full-back James Justin and fired a shot into the back of the net.
The Cherries were able to find a goal on 65 minutes, however it was ruled out for offside by VAR. Lewis Cook and his free kick coming off the head of Evanilson, who was in an advanced position.
Some tough defending by Leicester eventually reaped rewards as they were able to hold onto three points at home – Caleb Okoli and Mads Hermansen were the main parts of the result.
Cooper was quick to turn his attention to his players and fans, saying: "I never worry about myself first".
"I'm just really happy that the players have been able to get the win and the supporters have been able to leave the stadium with a win as well.
"They can enjoy the weekend and the international break more than what they might have if things were different."
The importance of the fans is something that Cooper has been very vocal about since his arrival. The former Nottingham Forest manager is still yet to get the Leicester fans fully on board due to his former employers.
The Leicester boss commended the Foxes' first half display against tough opposition.
"The first half was a good game, a brilliant goal and nearly got a better second one and looked a real threat.
"Bournemouth as well, a good team. Obviously, a team that they have developed and invested in over the years, so we knew it was going to be a tough test today."
However, Cooper did admit that the second half of the game was about "getting over the line" in his quest for a win.
"We wanted to carry on being brave, we wanted to try and get the second goal and there were positive intentions at half time.
"It is natural that the opponent will take a bit more risk and they go a bit longer, a bit quicker and get a few more bodies up the pitch quicker.
"That part of the game we managed really well and I'm just happy that we've had a first half where we've looked a good attacking threat."
His Leicester City side have struggled at times to turn defence into attack and have had their attacking threat neutralised in matches.
Leicester's next game after the international break involves another team on the south coast, this time away at Southampton. Cooper was quick to talk about his preparations for what could be a relegation clash.
"Carry on with our work, keep building, review, reset a little bit but we've got to hit the ground running when we go to Southampton after the international break.
"There won't be a day go by when I won't be thinking and preparing for that."
The last time these two teams played resulted in a 5-0 thrashing of The Saints in the Championship. Abdul Fatawu scored a hat trick in that game, and he could be called upon once again to down Russell Martin and his side.
The goalscorer Facundo Buonanotte also got his fair share of praise from the boss after the match. The midfielder, who is currently on loan from Brighton has made a good impression on the Leicester staff and the fans during his time in the Midlands.
"He's a really really talented young guy, wish he was ours," said Cooper, who is repeating the sentiment that is around the King Power Stadium.
"We've had a lot of time in the training ground with him and he is a brave player, in a good way he's an aggressive player, he takes risks and wants to make things happen.
"He certainly did that today with the goal, but we're really enjoying working with him and taking responsibility for his development for a year but he is grasping the opportunity as well."
Steve Cooper's time at Leicester has been filled with a lot of criticism from fans and pundits about his style of play and decision making. However, the Leicester manager talked about putting the club before himself.
"I never think about myself and maybe that's a strength and a weakness I don't know. I'll always think of the greater good for the football club.
"My main motivation for winning today was the players because I really think they've deserved a win for what they've given."
Cooper also spoke about the season so far, and how his side is still learning and how Leicester have been unlucky at times.
"There's definitely things that we could have done better in the first quarter of games but some things have really gone against us as well.
"I really wanted to win at the King Power and feel the atmosphere and they were brilliant second half in getting behind the team and I think we responded and showed even more desire."
Leicester City's next game after the international break is a trip down to St Mary's Stadium to face off against another newly promoted side in Southampton.
The Saints are without a league win this season, their most recent result being a 3-1 loss away against Arsenal, with Russell Martin's side looking to bring home their first three points of the season.
