Lucas Paqueta has lauded his attacking teammate Jarrod Bowen after West Ham beat Ipswich Town 4-1 on Saturday (5 October).

The duo were both involved in the goalscoring action, helping Julen Lopetegui’s side to their second Premier League win of the season at the London Stadium.

Some fans will have been expecting the worst when Liam Delap equalised for the visitors, cancelling out Michail Antonio’s first-minute opener, but Mohammed Kudus, Bowen and Kudus had other ideas.

Taking to Instagram Stories following the victory , Paqueta posted an image of himself and Bowen alongside the caption: “What a player,” with a flame and heart emojis.

The Hammers finally look to have found their stride under Lopetegui, albeit against newly promoted Ipswich, and the club can now kick on and find some form.

It has been a tough start to life in East London for the new manager, losing four of his first nine games in charge in all competitions, and coming under pressure due to the manner of some of the results.

A defeat against the Tractor Boys could have already been the final nail in the coffin, but that was not the case as the Hammers ran riot at the London Stadium, scoring at least four goals since the 5-0 win over Freiburg in March.

While Bowen had only notched one goal and one assist in his opening six league appearances, he stepped up at the perfect moment to lead the Hammers to a vital win.

Having recorded 16 goals and six assists in the division last term, Lopetegui will certainly be hoping his attacking star can rediscover that form again and help push the Irons up the table.
