After making a raft of changes in midweek, Eddie Howe could do something he hasn't done so far this season and pick the same Newcastle United starting XI for consecutive Premier League games for this weekend's match against Everton.

The Magpies head coach has tweaked his side regularly, with changes at full-back, midfield and in the wide positions in the opening handful of games. However, the performance in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City last weekend might be enough to convince Howe to stick with the same team.

Alexander Isak is ruled out, although he and Callum Wilson should be back for the game with Brighton after the international break, while several rested players are likely to return after sitting out the midweek Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon, including Sandro Tonali. Here's how United could line up against Everton at Goodison Park.

Nick Pope

Thankfully it appears that the United keeper will be fit to play after picking up a minor knock against Manchester City. The shot-stopper has been in excellent form this season, making some vital saves and offers a reassuring presence to the backline.

Kieran Trippier

This one might mean a little more to Trippier after his Goodison Park horror show last season. The former England defender offers United so much that it was a shock to see him briefly struggle in the defeat to Everton and at Spurs a few days later. He has been competing for a place with Tino Livramento but seems to have won that battle, at least for now.

Fabian Schar

Another to have recovered from minor knocks, Schar was the standout player against AFC Wimbledon in midweek. He will be tested more defensively at Everton, of course, but his place in the backline is assured.

Dan Burn

The Blyth-born defender has been a solid performer all season for United and will continue his partnership with Schar in the heart of the defence after only playing the final minutes in midweek. His aerial strength will be a key factor against Everton's ploy of getting the ball into the box from wide positions.

Lewis Hall

The young full-back was given the nod against Man City and put in probably his best display of the season against highly dangerous opponents. Newcastle will have to ensure they control the flanks with Everton particular dangerous out wide. Howe may be tempted to start Lloyd Kelly, but Hall has earned his shirt.

Sandro Tonali

After weeks of waiting, the Italian finally got his first Premier League start in almost a year, and showed us all what we've been missing. A 10-minute second-half purple patch stood out, but he was a classy influence in the midfield throughout and, having had the benefit of a midweek rest, should be a shoo-in.

Bruno Guimaraes

We saw the bristling best of the Brazilian last weekend as he more than made up for his late error at Fulham. Fierce in the tackle, leading the midfield press and creative on the ball, it was everything we've come to love from Bruno. He must maintain those standards again in what will be another tough midfield battle.

Joelinton

The Brazilian's workrate is something United really miss when he's not in the side, but he knows that with Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff breathing down his neck, he has to match effort with technique. He was lucky two lapses in concentration didn't cost United against Man City - one at either end of the pitch - but the simple fact is Newcastle don't have anyone else like him.

Jacob Murphy

Another chance to impress for the winger, who should keep his place with Alexander Isak ruled out. He has shown plenty to admire this season, but must improve his final ball if he is to stay in the side once Howe has more attacking options. It's just little things, but they can make a huge difference. On his day, he can be a matchwinner, no mistake.

Harvey Barnes

He may be a 'moments' player but Barnes is having plenty of them this season. Someone you want to have around when the chances come along, the former Leicester man could maybe have more of an influence on the game. But when you're capable of the type of finishes we saw against Wolves and Spurs then you're always going to have a chance ot making an impact.

Anthony Gordon

Any thoughts that Gordon struggles to lead the line were surely dispelled by that display against Man City - and he should be fired up for a repeat performance back on his old stomping ground. Everton have some good defenders, but will they be able to cope with the pressure he was able to put City backline under? This is a huge chance to shine and a confident Gordon will be itching to take it.

Bench

No Martin Dubravka means Odysseas Vlachodimos could take a spot on the bench, alongside Tino Livramento, Emil Krafth, Lloyd Kelly Sean Longstaff, Joe Willock, Will Osula, Miguel Almiron and potentially Alex Murphy.
