Sam Allardyce believes Ipswich Town can go to the London Stadium and “upset” the West Ham United supporters on Saturday.
Julen Lopetegui is still chasing his first home league points as head coach, with the Hammers accruing only five in total through six Premier League games despite an extensive summer recruitment drive.
The former Hammers manager outlined his concerns about the side to an agreeing Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour live on talkSPORT .
Parlour said: “It’s a massive game. Ipswich go there after getting a good draw against Aston Villa, and they’ll go to the London Stadium thinking they’ve got a chance – you’ve been there, you know how the crowd can turn on you very quickly.”
Allardyce responded: “Exactly, and the biggest pressure of all is they’ve lost all their home games so far.
“Fans have been talking on social media about how they’ve never started a top-flight season having lost their first four home games.
“If there is a turning point … West Ham must look to be favourites. Ipswich have picked up points here and there and if they keep doing that , that will upset the Hammers fans.”
West Ham United still without a point at home
When you talk about a transition period at a football club, it is usually seasoned with excitement – and it was until a short time ago at West Ham.
Fast-forward to October and the club have been battered out of the Carabao Cup, have won just one of their opening six in the Premier League and not one of their five league points have come at the London Stadium.
While the Irons have faced some stern opponents, Lopetegui has so far done little to convince the 60,000-plus in the stands that he can be a long-term success.

New signings have tended to either look sluggish or have barely been afforded enough game time, with many of David Moyes’ old guard so far standing out as the team’s better performers.
At home to a plucky Ipswich team who have achieved hugely in the past two years, on paper it would suggest an ideal opportunity for those of a claret and blue persuasion – but it is unlikely to be anything close to an easy ride.
