Things are going from bad to worse for manager Erik ten Hag and Manchester United.

The Premier League giants entered Thursday’s Europa League fixture against Porto on the back of a humiliating 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur

Ten Hag needed to get a positive result to ensure his survival at the club, but his side could only secure a 3-3 draw despite an impressive start.

Early goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund put United in the driving seat at the Estádio do Dragão, but Porto soon came roaring back in the game.

Brazil winger Pepe reduced the deficit before Chelsea summer target Samu Omorodion levelled the scores with a supreme header after 34 minutes.

The Spanish striker put them ahead with a thumping near-post finish within minutes after the break, but Harry Maguire salvaged a point for the visitors with a late header after Bruno Fernandes’ red card.

Ten Hag was defiant in his post-match interview, saying they will continue and fight (per BBC Sport).

However, talkSPORT pundit Jermaine Pennant says the Dutchman is now on the brink of getting sacked.

Pennant feels the hierarchy will pull the trigger if the Red Devils lose to Aston Villa this weekend.

He said: “I am going to call him One Hag because he has got one life left. He is not Ten Hag anymore, he is One Hag. One Hag with one life left”.

Erik ten Hag has received good backing in the summer transfer window. He has been given time to improve the fortunes of the club.

However, the 54-year-old is now out of excuses and looks to be on the brink of getting sacked.

A defeat to Aston Villa this Sunday will very likely end his time at United.
