Massimo Luongo has backflipped on his international retirement, earning selection in Tony Popovic's maiden Socceroos team after declaring himself available.
Luongo called time on his international career after a 2-0 friendly win over New Zealand in London last October, citing a "frustrating" injury run.
That win, and a 1-0 loss to England at Wembley Stadium a week earlier, had been his first Socceroos appearances in four years.

Luongo, who plays for Premier League club Ipswich Town, has 45 international caps, and scored six goals. His crowning glory at international level was his role in the 2015 Asian Cup, which the Socceroos won, with the goalscoring midfielder named player of the tournament.
Popovic has also named two debutants in the squad to take on China and Japan in the next round of Asian Cup qualifiers.

Melbourne Victory winger Nishan Velupillay has been called into his first senior national squad, and will be joined by teammates Daniel Arzani and Jason Geria.
Uncapped South Australian 'keeper Paul Izzo has also been selected in the extended squad, as have veterans Aziz Behich, Jackson Irvine and Mat Ryan.
Popovic was named as the senior coach only last week after Graham Arnold's sudden exit.
"We're at the beginning of an exciting journey, and it's an honour to lead this group of players," Popovic said.
"I'm eager to welcome both the players and new staff into camp as we come together for the first time. This October window offers a great opportunity to showcase a vast improvement, both in our desire and in the quality of our play.
"This time in camp will be crucial as we lay the foundations that will not only help us succeed in this window but set the tone for our future ambitions."
The Socceroos will first take on China in Adelaide on October 10, and then Japan in Tokyo on October 15.
