It has already been a successful window for Everton, with three outgoings handing them a huge net profit despite having already brought in three new faces as well.

Naturally, Amadou Onana’s move to Aston Villa has provided the bulk of those new funds, but Ben Godfrey and Lewis Dobbin’s departures have also helped.

With these deals tied up, Kevin Thelwell now has a wealth of possibilities to try and mould this transfer treasure chest into a new centre-back, midfielder and winger.

Fortunately, the former seems set to be tied up with some ease, if reports are to be believed.

Everton now handed boost in Davinson Sanchez transfer

There have been plenty of defensive names mentioned regarding the Toffees, given their well-documented desire to bolster their backline.

However, with Jarrad Branthwaite set to stay at Everton, and James Tarkowski a fine and ever-present figure beside him, the profile of signing is unique.

They need someone who would not weaken them too much if called upon, but affordable enough pose a threat without unsettling two of their best players.

Now, according to Turkish outlet Sporx, that player could be set to sign imminently.

Adding to reports that suggested that Everton had bid £15m for Davinson Sanchez earlier this window, this latest notion suggests that Galatasaray are officially prepared to sell the Colombian in order to fund their own transfers.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax star only moved to Türkiye last summer, but has already impressed despite a troubled prior spell in north London.

Would Davinson Sanchez improve Everton?

Whilst his stock fell dramatically at Spurs, it cannot be denied that Sanchez has shown throughout his career that he is a fine ball-playing defender.

After all, he has shown it at both in Amsterdam and at Galatasaray now, and with the right leadership, could do so again at Everton.

Mauricio Pochettino certainly felt like he had the tools to be the best, as he first noted after bringing him to White Hart Lane in a club-record deal: ‘I like his personality and how he is aggressive, he is fast, he will fit for us very well.

‘It’s a massive opportunity because we believe he will be one of the best centre-backs in the world in the future.’

And now, when compared to other centre-backs across Europe’s top five leagues, his FBref figures remain stunning.

He ranks in the top 18% for interceptions and the top 6% for blocks per 90, detailing his defensive prowess, yet also sits in the top 17% for progressive passes and the top 6% for progressive carries per 90.

Able to break up play and then kickstart attacks with his speed and power, Sanchez would be a fine fit for Everton, and would provide both cover and competition for places, forming a phenomenal trio of centre-back options for Sean Dyche.
