A Crystal Palace target’s summer has now been turned upside down after he was left out of his club’s pre-season tour.
There has been plenty of movement on the transfer front for Crystal Palace so far this week, as Dougie Freedman agrees personal terms with Marseille No.23 Ismaila Sarr, while an approach was also made for Chelsea No.14 Trevoh Chalobah.
Now, there has been a major development involving the 25-year-old…
Chelsea leave Trevoh Chalobah in London
Chelsea have now decided to leave the aforementioned Chalobah out of their trip to the United States.
It comes just after Simon Phillips claimed that Chalobah rejected an approach from Crystal Palace and two other Premier League clubs, as he aims to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Now, that may not be an option for Chalobah.
Ed Aarons of the Guardian claims that the man from Freetown, Sierra Leone, currently “feels he is being forced out” of Chelsea, and will not rush to make a decision on his future.
Chalobah looked to have fought his way back into the starting XI at Chelsea, playing 90 minutes in five of the last six Premier League games as the Blues secured five wins and a draw.

However, Enzo Maresca has now plunged the Chelsea academy graduate’s future into ambiguity by leaving him out of the pre-season tour.
Loan move could appeal to Crystal Palace
We opined on Monday that a move for Chalobah – who Chelsea value at £30m – would make no sense, given the options Oliver Glasner already has at his disposal in the centre of defence.
It would be foolish to spend £30m on another defender when the likes of Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew are currently our main backup options in the attacking department.
However, a loan deal with an option to buy Chalobah next summer could appeal to Steve Parish.

The 6ft 3in man can also play in defensive midfield, where Glasner interestingly used Marc Guehi for the 5-0 win against Aston Villa on the final day of last season, so his versatility could be beneficial to Crystal Palace across an entire season.
Then, next summer – when an option to buy could be on the table – the situation at Selhurst Park may be different, with Guehi or Joachim Andersen potentially gone by then, providing an opening for Chalobah.
