Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer window has seen just one permanent addition added to the squad.

Ange Postecoglou‘s men have now jetted off for their pre-season tour of Asia with Japan the first stop on their schedule.

Spurs have made the trip with just one new face having landed this summer in the shape of 18-year-old Archie Gray.

Although Tottenham have struggled to see players through the doors in north London this summer, they have not had the same issues in allowing players to depart.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is the latest player to depart north London as he made his move to Marseille on Monday.

And despite the mass clearout already this summer, more could be set to follow the Denmark international over the coming weeks.

Tottenham open talks to sell outcasted forward

Daniel Levy and Postecoglou have worked extremely hard this summer to see a number of players depart N17 over recent weeks.

The Australian has had a full year to assess the option which he inherited from Antonio Conte’s reign at the club and there have been a lot of casualties.

Some players remain with the likes of Emerson Royal a player who Tottenham are trying to sell this summer.

However, the Brazilian is not the only player at Tottenham who is attracting interest from abroad.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have now entered talks with Girona over the possible sale of forward Bryan Gil.

Initial discussions are now said to have taken place for the Spaniard who has spent periods of his time at Spurs away from north London on loan.

Tottenham went big when they signed Gil with the Lilywhites providing Sevilla with Erik Lamela and £21m.

However, the Spaniard has simply not provided the goods for Spurs as he now looks set to leave the club after three years and having failed to even score for the club.

What Ange Postecoglou has previously said about Bryan Gil

There is no getting away from it, Gil has been a disastrous signing from Tottenham and one which perhaps goes slightly under the radar.

When thinking about Spurs’ worst buys, the likes of Tanguy Ndombele come to mind given the amount of money spent on the Frenchman.

However, had Gil’s move to Spurs purely been cash, it could well have been a deal worth in the region of £40m.

Despite him playing just 243 minutes of football under Postecoglou, the Spurs manager did have some positive things to say about the Spaniard.

“He could be really important for us,” Postecoglou told the media last season.

Now just months on, Gil looks set to finally leave the club.
